Latest and Greatest

So I’ve been a terrible blogger lately.  I guess to be a good blogger I need to keep posting my latest and greatest adventures.  So here goes.

My latest adventure was Shoot Day 2 with Kelley and Josh.  This go round we had the pleasure of shooting couples.  I’ve been busy and haven’t editing the files but I have launched myself into them and should be done shortly.  Here is a sneek peek at Ashley and her fiance.

Nice.  I think so.  Thanks to the guys at the tattoo shop for having a bar-b out in such a handy location.  I have plenty more to come of these two plus some awesome shots of Jordan and her man Richard.

As for the insane number of dance photos I had to sift through.   I am about 60% finished with my run through.  I will definitely get an update out the beginning of next week.  My kids have a dance competition all weekend thats why no weekend post.

Later days,

Patrick

Over last weekend I got the chance to take some more pictures of the kid’s dance team at their showcase.  Heres a preview

I really enjoy seeing what I get in the pictures but the downer is that I don’t really get to watch the performances.  Kind of ironic I know, but chasing dancers across the stage with the lens is not the same as watching the dance.  It’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, well not so much blood as sweat and tears, you try holding a 10 lb camera to your eye for 4 hours, but the ends justify the means in this case.  All of the dances are really talented and fun to capture on “film.” It is going to take me a while to get through all 8000+ pictures but when the mountain has been climbed I will get some posted.

Cute Kids

I had the opportunity to take my niece’s pictures and conjure up an announcement or two.  It was an interesting shoot.  All of the previous time I had seen her you could have driven a Mac truck right next to her and she would not have twitched.  But of course you put lights and a camera in the room and she felt the need to be a little uncooperative.  That was not the first time it has happened to me and it will not be the last.

So I just waved my magical wand, “patience,” and we were able to came up with some great shots for the announcements.  As soon as iI can figure out what is wrong with my file uploader for this blog stuff you will be able to see them too.  Needless to say I am not happy about spending half a day trying to figure out the problem and getting no where.

On a different tangent I am attending another shoot day with Kelley and Josh in the river market tomorrow.  I’m not sure what decade we will be walking into but instead of individuals we are going to be photographing couples.

Round Number Two

Now that I have gotten my bearings let me share with you some of my recent adventures. Here are some of images from Kelley and Josh’s workshop that I attended last Wednesday. We had Jessica, in the yellow, and Kristin, the only other choice, modeling their inner 80’s for us.  I had an awesome time and would recommend their workshops, they are planning future excursions, to anyone interested in a laid back good time with your peers.  Well enough talk on with the show…

Starting with my personal favorite.

Yes we played in the street but fortunately for us mom wasn’t there to yell. We did get a lot of stares from the cars driving around us though.

Well that was the show.  Hopefully these all look good. I’m still riding the learning curve. Well while I work out the ever present kinks I will try to keep up with this blogging regularly.  Eventually I might just become the writer I never knew I could be, but I’m not keeping my hopes up.

First go round

Well here it is. My first blog.  I feel all sorts of empowered and stuff now. Yet at the same time its is kinda of like walking into your great aunt’s basement, you never know what is going to happen.  It this going to be a earth shattering experience that become another out let for my creativity or is it going to be a exercise in staring at a blank box with a cursor flashing in the upper left corner.  Only time will tell.

Anyway to get back to to purpose of things,  this is the blog for Mohawk Photography, mohawkphoto.com, my chosen profession.  As of right now I am in the process of figuring out how this whole blog thing works so bear with me.  The typing part is the easiest to figure out, look at me I’m a pro two paragraphs. For my next feet of amazement I will attempt to post pictures, starting with the shoot day Kelley and Josh put together for all of u aspiring photographers.  One day soon, hopefully I will learn how to insert the links so that you can see their amazing work too.

Well I think that that is it for now.  Hopefully there will be more coming soon.
